The United Nations system in Sri Lanka works as a team to develop the best strategy to respond to national needs and plans, building on agency assets. The Resident Coordinator / Humanitarian Coordinator (RC/HC) is the most senior UN representative in-country. The Resident Coordinator convenes regular meetings of the UN Country Team to ensure effective and efficient coordination among all agencies. The Country Team is composed of representatives of operational UN agencies on the ground and other UN affiliated agencies active in the country.
