Welcome to the official website of the United Nations family in Sri Lanka. This site presents information about the work of UN organizations represented in Sri Lanka, and provides links to various partners to the UN system. We hope that this site will guide in getting right information to work towards finding better solutions for development problems, and inspire to work for the well-being of humanity.
The UN works in Sri Lanka since 1952, supporting the country’s development goals, to help ordinary Sri Lankans deal with the consequences of natural disaster and conflict, to adapt to the challenges of our time and to reach the Millennium Development Goals. Today 19 UN specialized agencies, funds and programmes carry out work in Sri Lanka and all strive to uphold the UN principles and bring about a better standard of living for all Sri Lankans.
This new site is a gateway to the UN system in Sri Lanka, providing a platform for interaction with the UN family. We have tried to make this website as helpful as possible with relevant and current information and links and we will certainly work to continue updating. We invite you to surf through the site and share your comments with us to enable us to make improvements. Thank you for your time and please come back soon!
